Side by Side: Magno Men's Watch vs. Eclipse

Side by Side: Magno Men's Watch vs. Eclipse

If you love a traditional executive watch, then be sure to read this comparison thoroughly. Both are sleek and easy to wear. Both are built by hand. Both have stunning color stories. Which one will you choose?

Watch 1: The Eclipse by Nation of Souls

The Eclipse Men's Watch from Nation of Souls is a study in shadow and light, with each variation of this collection paying tribute to the events of the lunar and solar eclipses. Each variant has a solid color dial, an 'eclipse' of the watch face, which is accented by a contrasting color pattern. There are ten watches in this collection, six with stainless-steel straps and four with premium leather straps. Every strap is equipped with a quick-release button for easy adjustment or exchange and additional straps from Nation of Souls in corresponding colors can be purchased separately or as part of a bundle when they are available. Finally, the Eclipse boasts features that are often found in watches priced three to five times greater, such as Super Lumi hands for nighttime visibility, and a Ronda Swiss P quartz movement for accuracy and longevity. A sub-dial can be set to an additional time zone if required, and the integrated bezel and domed sapphire glass atop the 42mm dial make this watch water resistant to 5 ATM, suitable for the average level of exposure to water during daily wear, such as hand washing and showering. Includes a leather case, cleaning cloth, two-year international warranty card, and brand history booklet.

Watch 2: The Magno by Jowissa

The Magno Men's Watch from Jowissa is a classic Swiss timepiece that also pays tribute to celestial events with a lunar calendar feature.  Slim and lightweight with a case thickness of just 9 mm, this watch is lightweight and easy to wear all day or all night. There are four versions of the Magno, each with a contrasting color pattern that works with any wardrobe from casual to corporate. Roman numeral hour markers and a minimalist design draw the eye to the blue and gold moon phase complication and the single date window at the heart of the dial. Powered by a Swiss movement, this streamlined men's watch is built to last.  Premium leather straps in either black or brown are fitted with quick release buttons for easy adjustment or exchange. An integrated bezel with scratch resistant mineral glass make this watch water resistant to 5 ATM, suitable for the average level of exposure to water during daily wear, such as hand washing and showering. Includes a leather case and two-year international warranty card.

 Recommendations

Both of these watches are conversation starters, and both are superb examples of the value that micro watchmakers provide.  My favorite features on the Eclipse are the brushed stainless bands: they are sooooo smooth! And the Super Lumi hands are cool too.  My favorite features on the Magno are the lunar calendar, which is a rare complication for any watch under the $1k price point, and the slim case design: it's just 9 mm thick! Whichever one you choose, you can rest assured that the stars are aligned with these amazing watches for men from Nation of Souls and Jowissa.
